The BC College of Family Physicians champions three vital priorities for British Columbia's health care system:

Family Physician-Led Team Care: Patients accessing interprofessional teams report 35% fewer emergency visits and 30% fewer hospital admissions. Every $1 invested in primary care saves the system $4-$6.

Administrative Burden Reduction: Family physicians spend 20-30% of their time on paperwork—equivalent to 55.6 million lost patient visits annually across Canada. Reducing unnecessary forms by just 10% could restore 5.5 million patient visits yearly.

Rural Physician Support: Critical shortages are forcing emergency department closures, with Interior Health reporting 28 service interruptions in July 2024 alone. Guaranteed residency placements and funding support are essential for rural communities' health care access.
