The Circle of Impact honours these vital contributions — nominated by peers and awarded to those whose influence ripples through entire communities across British Columbia.

Empower: Excellence in Teaching Shapes the Next Generation

The Empower category celebrates family physicians who foster the next generation through teaching excellence, educational leadership, and mentorship. Our recipients demonstrate the profound impact of investing in the future of family medicine.

Dr. Rebecca Topp was recognized for pursuing specialized training in areas such as Indigenous cultural safety, menopause, and breastfeeding medicine, Dr. Topp “teaches by example, showing her students that family medicine is an ever-evolving field requiring both technical skill and deep empathy.”

Advocate: Bold Leadership Drives System Change

The Advocate category recognizes family physicians who shape health policy and drive systems change, building a more equitable, patient-centered health care system.

Dr. Randy Grahn in Creston, BC was honoured for continuing to decrease barriers and stigma, providing excellent care for those who are often most vulnerable and underserved.

Connect: Community Leadership and Peer Support

The Connect category honours family physicians who serve as cornerstones of care, leading community health initiatives and fostering collaborative practice.

Dr. Benjamin Bauer was celebrated for his clinical excellence and unwavering reliability. “He doesn't just treat patients; he bridges the distance between them and the care they deserve.”
