2026 BCCFP Awards Nominations Now Open

The 2026 BCCFP Awards are officially open for nominations, and we’re calling on you to help spotlight the family physicians and residents who make our communities stronger, healthier, and more connected.

Think of those fellow family physicians you admire and look up to; the colleague who shows up for their patients every single day, the physician whose name keeps coming up when talking about excellent care, the resident whose dedication stands out. This is your chance to recognize them!

Important: Our nominations timeline has changed and nominations run from December 12, 2025 to February 27, 2026.

Physician and Resident Nominated Awards

Family physicians and residents can nominate peers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to family medicine:

• BC Family Physician of the Year Award: Honouring outstanding contributions and leadership in family medicine.
• First Five Years of Family Practice Award: Two awards for excellence in early practice (rural and urban)
• Residents Awards: Five awards, two R2 Resident Awards and three Dr. Manoo and Jean Gurjar Awards for residents advancing family medicine (self-nominations accepted)

All nominees must be BCCFP members and not current board members.

Patient Nominated Award

Patients can nominate their trusted family physician through the My Family Doctor Award. Five family physicians, one from each geographic health region receive this recognition annually.

Remember that nominations for all categories close February 26, 2026.
