REAL Groups
Resiliency Education and Learning (REAL) Groups deliver targeted small group learning experiences that address timely, relevant topics with like-minded family physicians.
Addressing real practice issues to improve real patient care
Each group meets regularly to discuss topics chosen by participants, creating an intentional, supportive, and autonomous learning environment. This member-driven program is free with your membership, fully supported by BCCFP, and eligible for Mainpro+ credits.
How REAL Groups Work
REAL Groups champion physician-focused learning that drives meaningful practice improvement. Members meet regularly to reflect on their practice and discuss ways to support positive change.
Groups are member-driven—you identify relevant topics from your practice for discussion. During sessions, members build on their experience and knowledge while personalizing their learning. You'll identify quality gaps in your practice and implement positive changes.
Together, your group will assess learning needs based on practice realities, search for and appraise evidence and resources, and apply findings to practice-related questions. Through participation, members build supportive relationships that promote resiliency.
BCCFP provides supporting resources, including discussion guides, to focus your sessions.
Getting Started
Form your own group for the most successful experience. Virtual and special interest groups connect members across the province. If you have colleagues ready to form a group, provide their names and emails in the online registration form and BCCFP will handle the setup.
Your group chooses a facilitator to coordinate meetings and maintain focus. BCCFP provides training and supports through the Learning Vault and can assist with scheduling.
